About the position
The Electrical Technician role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment. This position is essential for ensuring the operational efficiency of electrical systems and requires a strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment as scheduled.
- Perform new installations of electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment.
- Perform repairs as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Vocational/Technical Certificate in Electrical or related discipline.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, electronic instrumentation, and electrical control.
- Troubleshooting skills and experience repairing various electrical systems.
- Ability to identify, test, repair, or install elements used in electrical and process control equipment.
- Ability to identify, select, and use calibration equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to work independently.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to work overtime and off-shift hours.
- Experience assisting with shutdowns.
