About the position
The Electrical Technician at Befesa is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment within the company's recycling facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment used in the recovery of zinc from EAF dust, a hazardous waste material. The technician will also perform preventative maintenance and new installations as required, contributing to the overall safety and productivity of the facility.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment as scheduled.
- Conduct new installations of electrical, controls, and instrumentation equipment.
- Execute repairs as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics.
- Experience with calibration of electrical systems.
- Mid-level experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Electrical experience in industrial settings.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and sensors.
- Mechanical knowledge related to electrical control systems.
