About The Position

The Electrical Technician role involves building and wiring electrical control panels and related components according to customer specifications. The position requires reading and interpreting technical documents and schematics, as well as utilizing various hand tools to complete assembly tasks. This is a temp-to-hire position, offering an opportunity for long-term employment based on performance.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Education.
• Technical Certificate in Electrical Controls is desired.
• 2+ years' experience in control panel building, wiring, reading schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• An understanding of electrical currents.
• Mechanical installation and electrical wiring for control panels and desks.
• Experience using hand tools to drill, tap, and assemble electrical panels is a must.

Responsibilities

• Wire and build electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies per customer requirement.
• Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and bills of material.
• Drill or tap holes to mount control units or provide openings for components, wiring, or instruments.
• Utilize a variety of small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
• Complete point-to-point wiring and install a wide variety of electronic components including PLCs, relays, lights, switches, etc.
• Red-line documentation as necessary to initiate ECOs through Engineering.
• Perform operations such as deburring, grinding, and sawing.
• Operate hand pallet jacks to move material within the plant.
• Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
