About the position

The Instrumentation Technician at Linde is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the production facility by maintaining and troubleshooting industrial instruments and electrical systems. This role involves developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, as well as corrective maintenance solutions for instrumentation systems across multiple processes. The technician will work independently, make technical decisions, and occasionally support other facilities during maintenance activities. The position requires a combination of office and field work, with responsibilities including root cause analysis, training, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instruments such as transmitters, PLC systems, meters, analyzers, and automatic valves.
• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment.
• Develop, plan, schedule, coordinate, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Assist in root cause analysis activities for major failures.
• Read and maintain P&IDs and schematic wiring diagrams in compliance with SOPs, QA, and MOC policies.
• Identify and resolve chronic instrumentation asset concerns.
• Assist in turnaround planning and cost estimation of instrumentation work.
• Identify and implement new technologies and specify new instrument systems.
• Develop and train new and current instrument specialists in the facility.
• Lead Procal implementation and compliance activities within the facility.
• Assist in FDA and cGMP validation activities for instrumentation systems and assets.
• Assess equipment performance data and ensure optimal performance.
• Provide on-site or remote assistance and direction to plant or contract personnel.
• Drive resolution of highest impact issues with urgency and integrity.

Requirements

• Associates Degree or Engineering Technology Degree in Instrumentation/Electronics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the maintenance of instrumentation systems and equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and calibration of industrial instrumentation systems and equipment.
• Proven knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance of industrial instrumentation systems and equipment.
• Excellent communication and team interaction skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead/participate on teams.
• Proven experience as a self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
• Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail, etc.).
• Valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a company vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.
• Proven understanding of process control systems and methodology in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in Asset Management systems such as Infor EAM and Procal.
