The Electrical Test Engineer A position at Bollinger Mississippi Shipbuilding involves acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the administration of regulatory guidance and interpretation of ship specifications and contractual deliverables related to the construction and testing of Electrical Distribution Systems and Electrical Equipment. This role is critical in ensuring that all electrical systems meet the required standards and specifications before they are deployed on ships. The engineer will work closely with customers and government representatives to resolve any issues that arise during the development of test agendas and procedures for electrical distribution systems, which include generators and switchboards. In this position, the engineer will ensure quality sustainment of engineering products by utilizing their technical expertise to provide recommendations to both internal and external customers regarding the testing of shipboard systems and equipment. This includes reviewing drawings and changes, interpreting ship specifications accurately, and verifying vendor information to support functional testing requirements. The engineer will also serve as a witness during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to evaluate the functionality of designed products at the vendor's facility. Collaboration with the management team is essential to resolve any test-related issues promptly, ensuring that all systems are tested thoroughly and meet the necessary standards before installation on ships.
