About the position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Test Engineer II to join the Hardware Test Engineering team, focusing on next-generation robotic system design. The role involves planning, designing, executing, and documenting tests for electrical systems and components, with an emphasis on automation and improving product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, execute, and document testing of electrical systems and components.
  • Develop test strategies and solutions for new products, focusing on automation and cycle time reduction.
  • Collaborate with hardware development, regulatory & compliance, program management, and other hardware test team members.
  • Create test fixtures and automate tests to maximize efficiency.
  • Review and provide feedback on project requirements and develop test plans to verify adherence to those requirements.
  • Work with other Test Engineers and developers regarding tools and techniques required for testing.

Requirements

  • BS degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of test development engineering experience.
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation.
  • Experience as lead on medium to large sized projects.
  • Knowledge of test equipment and test fixture design.
  • Demonstrated expertise with test strategy development and implementation.
  • Bench top electrical debug tool experience and electrical design of test circuitry.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic scripting experience in a high-level programming language such as Python, Matlab, or LabVIEW.
  • Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics.
  • Experience with electric motors and motor test methodology.
  • Experience in circuit level debug to the component level.
  • Schematic capture tool experience with a desire to design low-level interface boards for test fixtures.
  • Knowledge of Industrial power and automation is a plus.
  • Experience decomposing hardware requirements into test cases.
