About the position

The Electrical Test & Rapid Prototype Engineer II role at Shield AI focuses on designing and validating test solutions for the V-BAT vehicle, contributing to the mission of enhancing hardware reliability. The position involves working with electrical and mechanical equipment to perform rigorous testing under various conditions, utilizing skills in electrical engineering, programming, and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Own requirements gathering, design, and validation of multiple test stands used to test components and subsystems on V-BAT.
  • Gain expertise in multiple disciplines within electrical engineering as you design test systems for power electronics, communications, RF, and more.
  • Design simple to moderately complex PCBs that interface between the test stand and the device-under-test (DUT).
  • Design test stands and test fixtures, which may include relays, PLCs, PCBAs, harnessing, and various other pieces of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Use Python to create fully automated test sequences.
  • Contribute to and attend cross-functional design reviews. Advocate for design changes that result in simpler testing processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Mastery of fundamental engineering concepts, including electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, programming, physics, and mathematics.
  • Experience working on multidisciplinary hardware development projects, which can be from an internship, job, club, team, personal project, etc.
  • Demonstrated history of showing ownership of project outcomes and delivering exceptional results.
  • Record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Python or any scripting language.
  • Experience with PCB schematic and layout tools, including Altium, KiCAD, Eagle, etc.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, etc.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and the ability to innovate under pressure to meet dynamic project demands and drive successful outcomes.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $89,498 to $134,248 per year.
