About the position

As a Senior Electrical Wiring Design and Integration Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of cable and wire harness detail and assembly designs. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in the context of wiring systems for complex projects. You will be responsible for analyzing results and performing design reviews, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and standards. Your leadership will guide the team in analyzing results and performing design reviews, providing engineering design disposition on discrepancies such as rejection tags and production action requests. In this role, you will document processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. You will also be tasked with developing complex statements of work, metrics, schedules, and budgets, which are essential for project management and execution. A critical aspect of your responsibilities will involve performing technical reviews of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection, ensuring that the best resources are utilized for project success. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure the successful implementation of electrical wiring solutions. Your expertise in electrical engineering, wiring design, and integration will be crucial in developing efficient and reliable electrical systems. You will also be expected to stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering, wiring design, and integration techniques, applying this knowledge to improve processes and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design electrical wiring systems for various projects, considering power requirements, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to determine the integration requirements of electrical wiring systems with other components, such as control systems, sensors, and actuators.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization, cost reduction, and improved efficiency in electrical wiring design and integration processes.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and integration plans.
  • Prepare progress reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough testing and verification of electrical wiring systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of electrical wiring systems.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges related to electrical wiring design and integration and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and failures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations governing electrical wiring design and integration.

Requirements

  • Electrical Systems Integration expertise
  • Wire Harness domain knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (or equivalent experience)
  • 9 or more years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
