About the position

The Electrical Apprentice will assist in performing all aspects of electrical power distribution and telecommunications installations within the wireless industry. This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed electrician to install AC and DC power distribution for various wireless equipment, including conduit, wiring, terminations, and trenching. The position requires travel across New England for construction installations, which may include overnight stays and working on weekends or overtime as necessary to meet construction schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of AC and DC power distribution for wireless equipment.
• Perform conduit installation, wiring, terminations, and trenching.
• Travel to various construction sites throughout New England.
• Work under the direction of a licensed electrician to complete installations.
• Utilize safety harnesses and equipment while performing tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications related to electrical installations.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in telecommunications construction preferred.
• Ability to complete required code courses and continuing education for licensing.
• Experience in testing and terminating fiber optic and Cat6 cable.
• Familiarity with terminating and testing hardline/plenum coax is a plus.
• Mechanical ability to use hand tools and power equipment effectively.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and blueprints.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with safety equipment and harnesses.
• Ability to carry materials and tools while climbing.
