The Electrician B Class position at Ellwood Quality Steels involves installing, calibrating, and maintaining electrical systems in a fast-paced steelmaking environment. Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical systems.
• Read and understand drawings and schematics.
• Service various types of motors and starters from 250 volt DC to 4160 AC.
• Perform servicing and troubleshooting on DC cranes.
• Service transformers and substations, including filtering oil and inspecting high voltage breakers.
• Assist Millwrights as needed.
• Implement proper and safe rigging methods and operate mobile equipment safely.
• Assist in developing CMMS system job plans and Preventive Maintenance Plans.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
• Meet attendance requirements and perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent GED; secondary education preferred.
• Minimum of two years' working experience in a heavy industrial facility, preferably in steelmaking.
• Documented high-voltage training preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Working knowledge of various types of motors and starters from 250 volt DC to 4160 AC.
• Knowledge of DC cranes, transformers, and substations.
• Strong commitment to safety and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems is preferred.
