This job posting is intended to fill open Journey-level Electrician positions within the Central Valley Region of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E). The Electric Operations team is dedicated to ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to customers, overseeing all aspects of electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance, construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response. The position is represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1245, which has a long history of representing employees at PG&E. As a Journey-level Electrician, the individual will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, and modifying electrical prints and schematics, laying out materials for installation, and placing orders for supplies as needed. The role requires the use of power and hand tools to install various electrical systems, including high voltage equipment, overhead and underground electrical systems, and control panels. The electrician may also operate construction equipment, such as crane trucks and bucket trucks, and will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work area. Overtime may be required, and the position may involve travel and transfer to new headquarters throughout the PG&E service territory without guarantees on the duration of assignments away from home.
