About the position

The High Tension Electrician will be responsible for the installation, operation, metering, and maintenance of Harvard University's low and medium voltage distribution systems. This role ensures the safe and reliable delivery of electric power across the campus, working with various electrical distribution systems and equipment up to 15KV.

Responsibilities

  • Work with electrical distribution systems and equipment up to 15KV.
  • Install, operate, test, and maintain utility-type distribution systems and ancillary equipment.
  • Comply with all standard safety codes and practices.
  • Perform core skills of the trades and related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Must have a Massachusetts Journey's License for a minimum of five years.
  • Extensive experience in installation, operation, testing, grounding, and maintenance of utility-type distribution systems.
  • Experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage systems and electric motors.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend circuit diagrams and documents.
  • Willingness to use own vehicle throughout the campus.
