About the position

The Electrician Licensed E9 position in the University Region is responsible for the maintenance and repair of roadway electrical devices and equipment. This experienced-level role involves working independently or as part of a team to address electrical needs on state trunklines, including the installation and upgrading of signals and freeway lighting. The position also includes inspecting contractor work to ensure compliance with specifications and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair roadway electrical devices and equipment for the University Region.
• Install, upgrade, and perform routine and emergency repairs of signals and freeway lighting.
• Inspect contractor work to ensure compliance with specifications and electrical codes.
• Operate vehicles or vehicle/trailer combinations with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more for installation and repair tasks.

Requirements

• Possess a journeyman electrician's license.
• Possess a commercial Driver's License (CDL) learner's permit upon appointment and obtain a Group A CDL with N or X endorsement within 12 months of hire.
