About the position

The Electrician IV position at Aramark involves performing apprenticeship level work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, fixtures, and equipment. The Electrician IV will work under supervision and is expected to follow recognized procedures and techniques of the electrical trade. The job entails a variety of tasks including repairs, installations, replacements, and testing of electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using necessary hand tools and testing instruments. In addition to hands-on electrical work, the Electrician IV will be responsible for inspecting and testing electrical lighting and power circuits, isolating defects in wiring and other electrical equipment, and examining all elements of electrical systems to locate faults such as blown fuses and short circuits. The role also includes replacing faulty components like switches, sockets, and plugs, as well as renewing circuits by isolating defective wiring and replacing it with new wiring or splicing. The Electrician IV may also have minor supervisory duties when assigned an Electrician Helper, providing guidance and support in electrical duties. Furthermore, this position requires providing functional operational support during emergencies, inclement weather, or other critical situations. Responsibilities

  • Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using necessary hand tools and testing instruments.
  • Inspects and tests electrical lighting, power circuits, and equipment.
  • Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using suitable testing instruments.
  • Examines and tests all elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, and loose connections.
  • Replaces faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, and other elements of electrical systems, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Renews circuits by isolating and/or cutting out the defective wiring and replacing it with new wiring or splicing.
  • Estimates materials needed and records time and materials expended on work orders as required.
  • May have minor supervisory duties when assigned an Electrician Helper to assist in electrical duties.
  • Provides functional operational support to property as essential personnel during times of emergency, catastrophe, inclement weather, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years' experience in the electrical trade pertaining to maintenance and/or construction.
  • Two (2) years' experience as a licensed Master Electrician.
  • Thorough knowledge of codes pertaining to maintenance and installation of electrical systems.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of conduit bending, ladder and scaffolding safety, wire pulling, and the proper operation of metering equipment and various hand tools.
  • Able to work indoors and outside in different weather conditions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of high voltage systems and equipment is a plus.
  • Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy lifting.
  • Ability to lift or move heavy objects up to 80 lbs.
