About the position

The Electrician, Plant I-III Nuclear position at Entergy involves performing maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of plant equipment in a nuclear facility. The role is critical for ensuring the integrity and reliability of electrical systems and components, contributing to the safe operation of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, and surveillance on plant equipment.
  • Repairs reactor components, motors, breakers, relays, fuel handling equipment, and switchgear.
  • Implements and performs preventive maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Identifies problems, defects, and failures that degrade component and system integrity and reliability.
  • Assists engineers with testing and evaluations.
  • Performs skilled work involving motor testing, breaker testing, and relay testing and protective functions.
  • Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; related vocational, trade school, apprentice program, or equivalent military training is desired.
  • 2 years of electrician experience or 2 years of nuclear experience; 4 years of commercial nuclear experience is desired.
  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations; ability to make semi-technical calculations involving the electrical area is desired.
  • Ability to use required tools and equipment; capable of making complex repairs and adjustments to plant electrical equipment.
  • Ability to communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing; ability to read prints and troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in nuclear power plant maintenance is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with company safety rules.
