About the position

The Electrician Work Leader will oversee a team of journey-level electricians within the Industrial Support Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center. This role involves assigning tasks, demonstrating work methods, and ensuring the quality of electrical installations and maintenance. The position requires hands-on work with electrical systems, including the installation of wiring, transformers, and circuit breakers, as well as operating test equipment to ensure proper functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of WG11 journey-level electricians.
  • Assign immediate tasks and demonstrate work methods.
  • Install raceways, supports, electrical wiring, switches, outlets, fuse boxes, meters, and light fixtures.
  • Run power and lighting circuits for machinery and illumination.
  • Install high and low voltage transformers and associated equipment.
  • Operate test equipment including switching loads and checking switchboards.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.

Nice-to-haves
