About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions.
• State of Texas Journeyman Electrician certification.
• Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.

• Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors and controls.
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines, procedures, and codes.

• Skill in calculating mathematical calculations.
• Skill in using a variety of equipment including power saws, power drills, sanders, and air compressors.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
• Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
• Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components.
• Receive and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
• Maintain inventory of district owned equipment; detect needed repairs on district buildings, structures, and equipment.
• Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
