About The Position

The position involves the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of equipment and instrumentation related to the unloading, loading, transfer, and storage of cargo at T. Parker Host's bulk terminal. The role focuses on ensuring the efficient operation of various equipment, including conveying systems, motors, and control systems, while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of prior industrial electrical experience.
  • Master Electrician-level knowledge/experience in troubleshooting at a component level of industrial electronic controls: VFDs/DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and associated wiring.
  • Working knowledge of Ohm's Law.
  • Ability to attain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Support Operations through the installation, programming, start-up, and maintenance of electrical, automation, and process control equipment.
  • Responsible for installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and automation equipment to improve plant system operation/uptime and reduce total operating costs.
  • Support all types of facility systems including Emerson PLCs, Control Techniques VFDs and DC Drives, SEL MV control and monitoring, bulk cargo belts scales, wireless radios, and related equipment, 120v-4160v motor controls.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Emerson (formerly GE) RX3i controllers and Machine Edition software preferred.
  • Experience with Medium Voltage motors and starters preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair equipment used to transfer cargo to/from barges and vessels.
  • Work from blueprints, wiring schematics, manuals, or verbal instructions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all terminal equipment.
  • Complete work in a safe and timely manner in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Safely operate various types of equipment related to cargo transfer for testing purposes.
  • Perform routine inspections on assigned equipment and report findings in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Accurately document information generated in support of operations, including receiving, shipping, and storage of bio-mass, maintenance inspections, and safety-related reports.
  • Participate in and successfully complete required training and related testing.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Perform any other terminal functions as trained, requested, and instructed by supervision.
