About the position

Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) is seeking an experienced Electrician to join its Marine Repair Facility (MRF) in Catlettsburg, KY. This role is essential for maintaining and repairing electrical systems and components in a marine environment, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive workplace. Electricians will work both indoors and outdoors, often in challenging weather conditions, and may need to travel to various locations for work.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain shore side and towboat equipment such as motors, electrical control panels, intricate alarm systems, generators, transformers, heater controls, fiber optics, PLC automation systems, networking, radar systems, and high-speed satellite communication systems.
• Proficiently troubleshoot electrical issues and repair electrical components.
• Participate in new project work and administrative activities.
• Respond to callouts.
• Participate in safety and training activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card required.
• Must be able to pass a preemployment written test, hands-on test, drug test, and background check.
• DOT physical required.
• Industry experience preferred.
• Experience working with Marine equipment preferred.
