About the position
The position involves the installation, modification, and repair of automated industrial control equipment. The candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, installing, and maintaining various industrial control equipment and instrumentation. A strong understanding of software utilized within programmable logic control (PLC) systems is essential. The role requires a thorough understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment, PLCs, and electrical circuits. The candidate must be available to work off shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed, and assist in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Installation, modification and repair of automated industrial control equipment
- Design, plan, install and maintain industrial control equipment and instrumentation
- Assist in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical equipment, PLC's and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits
- Install, troubleshoot and repair electric motors and equipment
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and document finished work
- Contact vendors to source replacement components for all electrical/electronic equipment
- Drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Four years combined schooling and industrial experience required
- Strong machine electrical background
- Proven PLC troubleshooting experience - Allen Bradley RS 5000 a must
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Knowledge of safety practices such as MSHA, lockout/tagout, NFPA 70E and proper use of PPE
Nice-to-haves
- Associates degree preferred
- Journeyman Electrician License preferred
- Proven HMI Programming experience preferred (Wonderware)
- Computer skills - Windows environment, loading and setup of various software platforms desired
