Electrician

About the position

Interfor is seeking an Electrician to join their team in Longview, WA. This role involves performing electrical repair projects, maintaining and troubleshooting control systems, and ensuring adherence to safety and HR policies. The Electrician will work independently, manage work requests, and train others in electrical maintenance, contributing to the operational efficiency of the mill site.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety and HR policies and standards.
• Perform electrical repair projects anywhere on the mill site.
• Read, write, and understand electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and blueprints.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance duties.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all P.L.C. controls, A.C inverters, or any other control systems.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out policy before making repairs.
• Effectively manage and plan work without direct supervision.
• Submit work requests and fill out completed work orders.
• Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor to keep the area operational.
• Clean up after each job.
• Work from extended elevations using established safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with all plant personnel.
• Train others in electrical or mechanical systems for routine maintenance schedules.
• Run equipment for test runs after repairs are made.
• Acquire necessary skills for effective maintenance duties.
• Work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and call-in duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience or a 2-year Technical Degree in electronics or related field.
