About the position

The Electrification Material Flow and Packaging Engineering Supervisor at Ford Motor Company is responsible for overseeing material flow planning and packaging for new vehicle platforms. This role involves significant leadership responsibilities, including forecasting, engineering, and launch activities related to shipping equipment and material handling. The position requires collaboration with product design teams to identify cost improvement opportunities and manage digital packaging design activities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for CE1 Forward Model forecasting, engineering, and launch, encompassing shipping equipment, material flow, related facilities, and material handling equipment.
  • Interface with Product Development on the impact of product design and drive opportunities for enterprise cost improvement.
  • Supervise digital packaging design activities for MP&L using CATIA V5, Teamcenter Engineering, and PackAssist.
  • Establish and manage container design standards, commodity pack strategies, and improvement initiatives to reduce freight costs.
  • Drive Material Flow objectives including Fork Free, Material Handling Automation, and minimized unloading/loading.
  • Design and implement low-cost complexity management strategies.
  • Coordinate actively between CE1 Leadership and MP&PE Skill Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience with 3D CAD/PLM software.
  • Experience with MF&PE toolset including PFEP and Factory Flow Simulations.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing New Model Process Planning (stamping, body, trim, chassis, final).
  • Exhibited leadership skills and characteristics including business acumen, drive for results, conflict resolution, project management, and teamwork.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, packaging, mechanical, or industrial engineering is preferred.
  • Process knowledge and plant experience is preferred.
