About the position

As a Maintenance Technician 2 at Staples, you will be responsible for performing preventative and spontaneous maintenance on various equipment and systems within the supply chain environment. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of the facility, contributing to the overall success of Staples Supply Chain in delivering products and services to customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and spontaneous maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, and material handling equipment.
• Conduct general building maintenance including overhead doors, construction repair, and floor repair.
• Perform light plumbing maintenance and carpentry assignments as needed.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and promote a safety culture within the workplace.
• Utilize vendor manuals and procedures for preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of related experience in maintenance or a similar field.
• Ability to pass a drug screen as legally permissible.
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more as needed.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 and 100 pounds by hand.

Nice-to-haves

• Trade school background in a relevant field.
