About the position

The Electro Mechanical Engineer position at Siemens involves working in the Pomona, CA manufacturing facility to support the production of power distribution equipment. The role focuses on reviewing customer specifications, creating necessary documentation such as wiring schematics and bills of materials, and collaborating with various teams to ensure project success. This position is critical for expanding the facility's capabilities and requires both independent and team-oriented work.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer technical specifications and verify the Siemens solution meets the customer requirements.
  • Work independently and/or with a team to build required customer documentation, typically including electrical schematics, bills of materials, and equipment layouts.
  • Apply AutoCAD and an electrical schematic software tool to create drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Provide factory support during the manufacture of your projects.
  • Collaborate optimally with application engineering, R&D, sales, customer, and manufacturing production personnel.
  • Assist in training other specialists and employees as the need arises.

Requirements

  • BS degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Familiarity with Electrical schematics and electrical components.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of experience with Switchgear/Switchboard products and PLC's.
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
  • Experience with Visual Basic programming or other programming languages.
  • Experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Proven track record of innovative thinking and process improvement.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
