About the position

The Electro Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. This role emphasizes safety and productivity, requiring participation in the overall administration of the plant. The technician will also assist in process troubleshooting, analyze specifications, and operate machine tools to fit and assemble parts for various manufacturing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production machines and plant facility equipment, including preventative maintenance.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
  • Perform machinist duties such as prepping tooling for production, sharpening tooling, and making new details.
  • Repair or modify tools and dies using various machine tools and hand tools.
  • Manage Tool Room Activities under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas, mitigating safety and health factors in all processes.
  • Participate in business planning meetings to plan future activities and monitor production processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in manufacturing with strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills, including some PLC knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work accurately under frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Functional knowledge of instruments such as protractors, micrometers, scribes, calipers, scales, and tape measures.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in tool making.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, sitting, standing, twisting, and bending.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of Windows Operating System.
