About the position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician position at New Tech Global involves performing maintenance and troubleshooting tasks in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring the safety and functionality of electrical systems, utilizing various tools and techniques to maintain and repair equipment. This is a temp-to-hire position based in Houston, TX, requiring physical capability and technical knowledge in electrical systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Perform safety-related functions and miscellaneous electrical tasks.
• Configure Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
• Safely operate forklifts and high lifts.
• Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs.
• Test and troubleshoot electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices.
• Utilize a systematic approach to troubleshoot and problem-solve without unnecessary part replacements.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Preferred Electrician License or completion of a two-year electrical program.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Knowledge of Basic Electricity & Electronics, DC Equipment & Controls, and AC Circuits.
• Familiarity with Electrical Measuring Instruments and Electrical Safety & Protection.
• Ability to read Electrical Schematics and mechanical blueprints.
• Knowledge of Ladder logic, Variable Frequency Drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Experience with Hydraulics.
