About the position
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our manufacturing team, known for delivering world-class products. This position involves working a 12-hour day shift on a 2-2-3 schedule, which means you will alternate between working two days on and two days off, followed by three days on. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in both electrical and mechanical repairs, including board-level and component-level diagnostics and troubleshooting. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining various types of machinery and mechanical equipment, such as conveyor systems, pneumatic equipment, and chillers. You will perform repairs on electrical or electronic instruments as directed by the Maintenance Lead and conduct preventative maintenance on all production equipment. Additionally, you will install electrical wiring systems to handle the required loads for various pieces of equipment, ensuring that proper safety devices are installed and necessary outlets and switches are provided. Your responsibilities will also include troubleshooting electrical issues, installing and wiring industrial automation line controls, and integrating them with existing networks. You will be tasked with troubleshooting, programming, and repairing robotic equipment, as well as conducting periodic tests or checks of all electrical or electronic instruments. Identifying and reporting potential equipment and building problems will be a crucial part of your job, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems, pneumatic equipment, and chillers.
- Perform repairs on electrical or electronic instruments as directed by the Maintenance Lead.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on all production equipment.
- Install electrical wiring systems to handle required loads for various pieces of equipment, ensuring proper safety devices are installed.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Install and wire industrial automation line controls and integrate with existing networks.
- Troubleshoot, program, and repair robotic equipment.
- Conduct periodic tests or checks of all electrical or electronic instruments.
- Identify and report potential equipment and building problems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years consecutive employment with 1 employer.
- 2-year technical degree preferred.
- At least 2 years minimum experience in the production field.
- Extensive industrial automation (PLC programming) experience/training is required.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Ability to read and interpret work documents.
- Ability to work in teams and perform basic math.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to use shop equipment such as lathe, drill press, and mill.
- Good record keeping for work orders, parts orders, inventory, and service/tenant follow-up.
- Understanding of PLCs and controls.
