About the position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for conducting a variety of tests and verifications on electro and electromechanical equipment. This role emphasizes accuracy, productivity, and on-time delivery while adhering to company specifications and procedures. The technician will troubleshoot circuits and components, perform diagnostics, and maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mechanical and/or electromechanical testing of small parts or components according to company instructions and procedures.
  • Review shop traveler route card or schematic drawings to confirm the correct sequence of operation.
  • Conduct tests to verify circuitry and test the effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment.
  • Receive parts or units from customers and troubleshoot circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints.
  • Perform tests and diagnostics using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DVM, signal generators, and other related test equipment.
  • Set up test equipment and conduct tests per specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions to the micro component level.
  • Provide detailed written failure descriptions with root cause analysis to production and engineering.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, adhering to all company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment and follow company safety rules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
  • Vocational training, apprenticeships, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electrical work.
  • Strong electrical background with an understanding of microelectronics.
  • Knowledge in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions.
  • Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows software applications.
