About the position

The Electro Mechanical Technician at Kraft Heinz Foods Company is responsible for the repair and maintenance of various electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment. This role requires a minimum of two years of experience in the field, specifically with control panels, PLCs, lift systems, and conveyor systems. The technician will diagnose mechanical problems, check blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs to determine the best course of action for repairs. A strong understanding of Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000 is desired, along with knowledge of control system design and network communication interfaces. In this position, the technician will work closely with production associates and management to troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring maximum efficiency. Observing mechanical devices in operation to identify trouble spots is a key responsibility, as is performing preventative maintenance on all equipment. The technician will also be involved in planning and scheduling maintenance tasks, utilizing the SAP Work Order system to initiate purchase orders for parts and document hours worked on applicable work orders. The role requires the ability to fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment, as well as investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures to develop action plans for eliminating repetitive issues. The technician must be able to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and will be expected to adhere to Kraft Heinz's safety values and environmental policies. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, and the technician will be expected to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints and manuals.
  • Work with production associates and management to resolve production issues.
  • Observe mechanical devices to locate causes of trouble.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling maintenance tasks.
  • Fabricate, disassemble, and assemble production equipment as needed.
  • Investigate equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment.
  • Utilize the SAP Work Order system for parts ordering and documentation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Millwright certification or completion of Millwright apprenticeship.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic.
  • Technical knowledge in DCS/PLC control systems and high voltage equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix Processors and RSLogix 5000.
  • Understanding of control system design and network communication interfaces.
