About the position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician III at Keurig Dr Pepper is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment. This role emphasizes meeting productivity requirements while adhering to high safety and quality standards. The technician will work on Allen Bradley PLC systems, conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures, and collaborate with engineers to optimize system performance.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and program minor changes in Allen Bradley PLC systems.
  • Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.
  • Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, and control failures and resolve them with effective problem-solving tools.
  • Document software configurations, updates, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and regulatory compliance.
  • Configure and troubleshoot HMIs, including replication of coding.
  • Complete size changeovers and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors at all times.
  • Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
  • Wire moderately complex control circuits.
  • Teach basic mechanical skills to line operators to support autonomous maintenance and equipment set-up.
  • Fabricate, repair, and install hangers and all types of piping.
  • Maintain and update software systems related to equipment control and automation.
  • Collaborate with site Automation Controls Engineers to implement software updates and enhancements.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff on software usage and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Work with production leadership to implement capital and productivity projects.
  • Quickly learn to weld and machine metals, plastics, and composites.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 7 years' experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical/controls/PLC systems, preferably Allen-Bradley systems.
  • Basic understanding of electric troubleshooting is required.
  • Experience with variable speed and servo drive programming, preferably Allen-Bradley.
  • Demonstrated advanced mechanical/electrical skills, with PLC troubleshooting and Robotics skills preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions, prints, flowcharts, block diagrams, and schematics.
  • Competent use of precision testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Safety conscious and able to perform in an emergency setting.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft applications and PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of inventory control systems.
  • Flexible, self-motivated team player with the ability to follow direction and work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to kneel, squat, bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk suite of software and Logix platform.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Food Safety practices.
