About the position

The Electromechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and owning the MCCB and ACB product offerings within North America, focusing on PowerPacT and MasterPact Circuit Breakers. This role involves creating verification and validation plans, conducting engineering analysis, and supporting manufacturing compliance. The engineer will also lead Circuit Breaker projects, coordinate project schedules, and ensure product quality and reliability through various engineering practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and own the MCCB and ACB offer within NAM - PowerPacT and MasterPact Circuit Breakers.
  • Create verification and validation plans.
  • Apply problem-solving techniques and tools to solve problems.
  • Validate FAIRs and conduct Pilot Run reviews.
  • Support Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Plants in North America.
  • Audit manufacturing facilities to ensure product compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Create, modify, and validate bills of materials and CAD drawings.
  • Execute product design changes according to technical specifications.
  • Conduct engineering analysis activities for product performance and compliance.
  • Support the creation and execution of verification & validation plans in SE laboratories.
  • Analyze customer returns and provide support.
  • Lead and execute Circuit Breaker projects, coordinating scheduling and safety reviews.
  • Conduct production line engineering qualification for Circuit Breakers.
  • Interpret test results and synthesize data into technical reports.
  • Update Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (xFMEA) documents.

Requirements

  • BS or equivalent expertise in electromechanical design in electrical distribution products.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in electromechanical mass production industries.
  • Knowledge of AGILE Methodology is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Basic 3D CAD Modeling skills.
  • Basic experience in Product Testing and Evaluation Methods (UL/ CSA/NOM/ IEC/ CCC/ ANSI).
  • Circuit Breaker design experience is a plus (MCCB and ACB).
  • Knowledge of CAE (Ex, Structural, Thermal, Kinematics, etc) is a plus.
  • Understanding of first principles of Physics and Engineering Practice.
  • Familiarity with metal stamping, thermoset and thermoplastic molding processes.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's in science is a plus.
  • Experience with AGILE Methodology is a plus.
  • Circuit Breaker design experience is a plus.
