About the position

The Electromechanical Drafter/Designer will be responsible for the development, modification, integration, and testing of training simulators for military and commercial applications. This role involves creating mechanical equipment facsimiles, I/O packaging, and custom mechanical support structures, utilizing both traditional and additive manufacturing methods. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently update and process electrical design documentation, including redline incorporation and configuration management processing.
  • Create electrical documentation such as cable assemblies, cable and wire lists, and schematics under limited supervision.
  • Apply knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices and ASME Y14.100 standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers to understand their program needs and challenges.
  • Work with Export/Import personnel to ensure compliance with engineering documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for access to sensitive information under this program/contract.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid 3D CAD Modeling skills (preferably Solidworks).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience creating documentation to support design, manufacturing, and production.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Drafting and Industry Standards.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication, machining, casting, and manufacturing processes.
