About the position

The Electromechanical Hardware Intern position at Schneider Electric is a summer internship opportunity for 2025, aimed at students pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, or related fields. The intern will engage in hands-on work involving the analysis, testing, and development of electromechanical hardware solutions, contributing to the design and optimization of products in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of electronics HW design and simulation systems to analyze design solutions.
  • Evaluate and test product design solutions in a bench top and lab environment.
  • Expand and modify existing firmware to meet marketing and design requirements.
  • Perform development (coding and/or testing) of part of an embedded software solution.
  • Work with HW lead to develop and analyze solutions and perform competitive analysis.
  • Facilitate the generation of prototypes for testing.
  • Interpret test results and other data, synthesizing it into technical communication for effective presentation.
  • Work with the product definition file, including schematic capture, PCB & PCBA creation, BOM creation, and development of specifications.

Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering field.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and circuit design.
  • Experience with wireless communications technologies and protocols such as Bluetooth and Zigbee.
  • Desired analysis skills: creativity and inquisitiveness for design and system optimization, strength of component and system analysis, and capability with electronics lab equipment for testing and debugging.
  • Use of statistical techniques for analyzing empirical data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's or PhD degree or candidate is a plus.
  • Experience with Cadence tool suite preferred.
