About the position

As an Electronic Data Interchange Java Developer at Gainwell Technologies, you will play a vital role in leveraging technology to enhance healthcare services for vulnerable communities. This position involves leading development efforts, ensuring client objectives are met, and providing technical guidance to less experienced developers. You will be responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, and reviewing applications, while also acting as a domain expert to improve product quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Leads development team efforts to provide flexible reusable components to increase cost effectiveness.
  • Analyzes, designs, codes, and reviews applications and suites of applications to ensure that customer specifications are satisfied.
  • Leads product development teams and senior designers in developing design requirements that are accurate and relevant to company needs.
  • Functions as a domain expert and works closely with software developers to explain the application design and coordinates activities to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Conducts cost analysis studies to determine feasibility of approaches.
  • Utilizes experience in development methodologies, coding documentation, testing methodology, and industry standards to define and develop project requirements, functional specifications, and detailed design of application solutions for clients.
  • Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Guides the work of less experienced developers to create, maintain, and communicate details of application designs to ensure that designs are according to specifications.
  • Provides technical consulting on complex projects and devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience programming in Java Web Services, J2EE environment, and Spring Boot.
  • Ability to design and document system and architecture flows.
  • Interest in being a problem-solver as part of a critical healthcare technology team.
  • Understanding of healthcare EDI processes and hands-on experience in supporting Healthcare Transaction Sets 276/277, 834, 835, 820, 837 or willingness to learn.
  • Experience in IBM B2BI Sterling (ITX, ITXA) and how it is used in an EDI application or willingness to learn.
  • Experience integrating with an ESB framework or willingness to learn.
