About the position

As an Electronic Hardware Design Engineer at 3M, you will lead the development of innovative products aimed at protecting users' hearing and enhancing communication. This role involves electronic design, development, testing, and verification of new products while collaborating with a diverse team of engineers. You will also be responsible for configuring and integrating tools to improve hardware and test development flow, as well as managing your work to meet project timelines and deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new products that help protect users' hearing and enable communication.
  • Perform electronic design, development, test, and verification of new products.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers across design and integration teams.
  • Configure and integrate tools for improved hardware and test development flow.
  • Plan and manage work to meet project plans, timelines, and deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Strong understanding of circuit design, hardware integration, and verification/validation.
  • Proficient in schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer).
  • Experience performing component level testing and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience coding with C, C++, Python.
  • Experience with wireless technologies such as BT/BLE/ISM band radios.
  • Experience with electro-acoustic design and validation.
  • Experience with intrinsic safety design techniques.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
