About the position

The Electronic Hardware Technician at SimTech, Inc. is responsible for performing skilled hand soldering, reading technical drawings, and fabricating cables and breakout boxes. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to produce quality prototypes in a fast-paced environment. The technician will also conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and provide electronic testing support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform highly skilled hand soldering and read technical drawings and specifications.
  • Fabricate cables and breakout boxes according to technical drawings.
  • Use hand power tools for the fabrication of breakout boxes.
  • Produce high-quality prototypes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various types of equipment and maintain all records.
  • Compose procedures for various operations.
  • Provide electronic testing support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical career training in a related field or discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cable harness assembly and repair.
  • Ability to work from schematics, diagrams, written/verbal descriptions, or defined plans.
  • Demonstrative skills assessment required, including hands-on soldering of connectors and cable assembly.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance preferred.
