About the position
The position involves maintaining production equipment in optimal condition while ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability. The role requires a self-driven individual capable of working with minimal supervision, diagnosing and repairing various mechanical and electronic issues, and training other maintenance personnel. The technician will also assist the Maintenance Supervisor and support major equipment failures as needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain production equipment in optimum condition.
- Diagnose, locate, and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic problems.
- Communicate effectively with service support, factory supervision, and management.
- Train other maintenance personnel.
- Document repairs to enhance troubleshooting skills.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in their duties.
- Support and assist in major equipment failures during any shift.
- Attend selected training courses as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus technical school certificate for a 3-year course in Industrial Electronics or equivalent degree/certification.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to complete a basic computer training course.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and develop control circuit drawings.
- Knowledge of all shop equipment and familiarity with machine shop equipment.
- Experience in welding (stick or wire-feed), electrical work, and plumbing.
- Familiarity with engine repair and drive-train components.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their components.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to obtain or have a journeyman's license.
- A minimum of 3 years experience as an Electronics Mechanic capable of working on CNC and DNC equipment.
- Competence in troubleshooting electronic control systems.
- Possess and maintain a minimum of a 'Registered Unlicensed Electricians License'.
