About the position

The Electronic Quality Engineer is responsible for managing quality improvement activities related to electronic parts, including root cause analysis and establishing best practices to meet quality requirements. This role involves responding to customer quality issues, performing investigations of production failures, and generating reports for upper management. The engineer will also support meetings with suppliers and lead internal electronic teams across various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform investigation of all electric production failures with Production Quality engineer.
  • Analyze Powerpack production data and reports.
  • Steer system software/hardware requirements analysis for new projects.
  • Analyze Steering PPAK communication network failures and diagnostics (DTC code).
  • Review supplier investigation reports and send updates to HOT as needed.
  • Attend electric part meetings with HM/MRA.
  • Generate weekly reports for upper management, including analyzing production reject trends, scrap costs, and investigation updates.
  • Generate monthly reports with upper management, including analyzing scrap trends and chronic issue investigation updates.
  • Follow NCRs through closure with PPACK Production Engineers.
  • Support all customer meetings (daily, weekly, monthly) with PQ Engineers.
  • Support meetings with suppliers for deep dive investigations globally (Electronic supplier).
  • Lead internal electronic teams meetings (US, China, Mexico).
  • Monitor and manage performance testers (Dyno, X-Ray, Vector Tool).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  • Understanding of manufacturing quality management environment.
  • Experience in analysis of product failure types.
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 and IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Ability to stabilize quality through dimension/defect improvement.
  • Experience in reducing quality costs through process improvements.
  • Utilization of Quality Computerized systems (Customer Portal, Mando).
  • Familiarity with Quality Core Tools - PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, APQP, MSA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Vector CAN tools - CANape, CANoe, CANalyzer for measurement, data logging, and running simulations.
  • Ability to design and develop test circuits and interface with systems.
