About the position

Assembler Electronic Post 4 is the Senior level position for an Assembler Electronic Post 4. The operator will be responsible for assembling mechanical hardware onto PCB assemblies, de-paneling PCBs, prepping hardware/electronic components and wires, and washing boards in aqueous cleaner or assigned designated board cleaner. The role may also involve interacting with engineers to help process prototype assemblies and supporting rework efforts for all departments when needed. Additionally, the operator will verify all assembly/work order documentation, inventory, and tooling using the ERP system and assembly aids, interpret assembly instructions, Bill of Materials, and Engineering Change Orders, and maintain general housekeeping and proper disposal of cleaning supplies and chemicals (i.e. solder, solder paste, flux, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical hardware onto PCB assemblies.
  • De-panel PCB's and prep hardware/electronic components and wires.
  • Wash boards in aqueous cleaner or assigned designated board cleaner.
  • Interact with engineers to help process prototype assemblies.
  • Support rework efforts for all departments when needed.
  • Verify all assembly/work order documentation, inventory, and tooling using ERP system and assembly aids.
  • Interpret assembly instructions, Bill of Materials, and Engineering Change Orders.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and proper disposal of cleaning supplies and chemicals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in the electronic manufacturing industry with emphasis on rework capabilities.
  • Ability to hand solder and rework a variety of SMT, thru-hole components and wires.
  • High attention to detail with recognizing and reworking solder and component defects.
  • Experience using a variety of tools for rework (i.e. hot air, solder pot, soldering iron, tweezers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and understand assembly and work instructions and be computer literate.
  • Ability to use small hand tools, magnifying lamps, microscopes, rulers, and calipers.
  • Ability to multi-task and adjust quickly to a high-paced teamwork environment.
  • Experience reading ECO's and assembly prints.
  • Knowledgeable of IPC-610 class II & III / J-STD-001 workmanship standards, IPC-7711/IPC-7721 for rework and repair of electronic assemblies.
