About the position

The Electronic Technician position at Disneyland involves maintaining and repairing various electrical and electronic systems within the park's rides and attractions. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests by minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. Technicians will work on a variety of tasks, from troubleshooting lighting systems to performing preventive maintenance on rides, all while contributing to the magical experience that Disneyland offers.

Responsibilities

  • Repair circuits/assemblies at rides like Pirates of the Caribbean.
  • Troubleshoot high-efficiency laser lighting systems for parades.
  • Reset breakers on the Haunted Mansion.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on rides in Pixar Pier.
  • Repair and maintain electrical/electronic systems on It's A Small World.
  • Replace/install lamps and switches throughout the parks.
  • Conduct PLC preventive maintenance for the Monorail.
  • Work on animatronics like the Yeti on the Matterhorn and R2D2.
  • Identify potential problems before they occur.
  • Experience the parks at night after guests have left.

Requirements

  • Technical competence in reading and understanding detailed instructions, blueprints, flowcharts, schematics, and engineering documents.
  • Knowledge of control and repair of circuits and motors.
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to evaluate job scope, determine needed parts/materials, and order through authorized vendors.
  • Expertise in using common hand tools, meters, gauges, and other test and measurement equipment.
  • Mastery of basic math skills, ability to differentiate colors, and computer literacy.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems, audio/public address systems, theatrical lighting fixtures, video projectors, and wireless networks.
  • Reliable on-time behavior and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Good communication skills with vendors and fellow Cast Members, along with a guest/customer focus.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Background in trade school or apprenticeship.
