About the position

The Electronic Technician position at Moog Inc. involves working in the Space and Defense Group, focusing on motor and actuator screening, assembly, and testing. The role requires a strong understanding of basic electricity and electronics, as well as proficiency in using various mechanical measuring equipment and computer programs. The technician will work onsite in Chatsworth, CA, and report to the Assembly Supervisor, contributing to the quality and performance of electronic assemblies and systems.

Responsibilities

• Work from assembly drawings, manufacturing outlines, worksheets, parts lists, and other instructions, both written and oral.
• Perform in-process motor/actuator screening using knowledge of basic electricity and electronics and applicable test equipment.
• Establish setups for performance tests for assemblies and subassemblies and systems, including necessary fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
• Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, height gauges, dial calipers, and indicating micrometers as required.
• Diagnose common test failures and recommend or perform rework to correct discrepancies while maintaining the integrity of the unit.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 years or more experience with motor/actuator screening using knowledge of basic electricity and electronics and applicable test equipment.
• Experience with mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, height gauges, dial calipers, and indicating micrometers preferred.
• Assembly & Test experience preferred.
• Proficient with computer programs (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with temperature chambers capable of providing hot and cold environments based on individual job requirements.
• Blueprint reading.
