About the position

The Electronic Technician at Wyman-Gordon is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and modification of electronic laboratory and control equipment. This role ensures compliance with military and customer specifications, particularly in the calibration and operation of heat treat and ISO forge furnaces. The technician will perform regular maintenance, emergency repairs, and maintain detailed records of service and calibration.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate and maintain calibration records for electronic measuring equipment according to customer specifications.
• Perform temperature uniformity surveys, system accuracy tests, and PLC calibrations of furnaces.
• React to emergency repair requests from production, utilizing electronic test equipment.
• Understand and interpret customer specifications and complex manufacturing manuals.
• Maintain a database for equipment calibration schedules and service records.
• Install, repair, and track inventory of thermocouples.
• Provide supportive maintenance as directed and act as a backup for the electronics maintenance department.

Requirements

• Experience with precision measuring instruments and electronic test equipment.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Electronic school training or relevant experience in electronics and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with government and customer specifications for electronic equipment.
