About the position

The Electronic Test Technician role at MAU Workforce Solutions involves installing and maintaining test systems, troubleshooting production hardware, and conducting thorough tests to ensure optimal performance. This position is essential for identifying issues and facilitating effective repairs and improvements in electronic components. It is a direct-hire opportunity based in Duluth, GA, with a focus on quality assurance and production support.

Responsibilities

  • Set up test equipment according to instructions and perform tests on production assemblies.
  • Inspect electronic components, including surface mount and through-hole assemblies.
  • Test and inspect subassemblies using various test equipment and procedures.
  • Qualify test fixtures, equipment, automated software, and test procedures based on customer requirements.
  • Support production by conducting failure analysis, debugging testers, and reducing false failures and downtime of test equipment.
  • Regularly review test equipment designs, capacity, and data for performance optimization.
  • Maintain accurate records of test reports, logs, and other necessary data for traceability.
  • Assist with production testing to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Conduct general equipment testing, evaluation, and calibration techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of test equipment, including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, and signal generators.
  • Possess a basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
  • Familiar with IPC-A-610 standards or higher.
  • Read and comprehend technical and electronic procedures and documentation.
  • Recognize and identify electronic components effectively.
  • Interpret printed instructions and procedures accurately.
  • Troubleshoot failed production hardware to the component level.
  • Maintain the AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) inspection station.
  • Operate a flying probe tester.

Requirements

  • An Associate Degree, Trade/Vocational School certificate, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 3-7 years of experience in a similar role within the electronics industry is required.
  • Must be available for training on the day shift for up to one month.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, fine details, and tones.
  • Proficient in general equipment testing, evaluation, and calibration techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of test equipment, such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency meters, and signal generators.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards or higher.
  • Capable of recognizing and identifying electronic components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IPC 610 certification.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production environment.
