About the position

The Electronic Warfare Engineer position at Actalent involves supporting warfighter systems for various Combat Air Forces platforms. The role focuses on developing and testing mission data to enhance aircraft and aircrew survivability against enemy radar and missile systems. The engineer will engage in research, programming, testing, and analysis to ensure effective electronic warfare capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct EW research, MD development, and MD testing.
  • Support EW system programming/reprogramming.
  • Coordinate programming/reprogramming requirements with EW system engineers.
  • Prepare validation and verification test plans.
  • Participate in ground and flight-testing.
  • Organize and participate in MD configuration control boards.
  • Assist with the collection, recording, and post-test analysis of data generated during MD testing.
  • Analyze EW threat waveform and reprogram parametric data into mission data file (MDF) via SPECTRE module.
  • Conduct validation & verification of MDF via characterization, correlation, compatibility testing using SITL and HITL.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain DOD TS/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelors or Masters of Science Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Python is required
  • Knowledge of EW weapons systems development, test and evaluation, and systems engineering
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Department of Defense (DOD) test and evaluation methodologies.
  • Knowledge of various blue/grey and red threat systems and associated platforms.
  • Experience entering, updating, maintaining, and extracting data from source databases.
  • Experience with Intel sources such as Common Emitter Database (CED) and Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming Database (EWIRDB).
  • Experience with data analysis software including development and documentation of data reduction and processing software, development of computer-generated data products, and implementation of data storage/retrieval capabilities.
  • Skill in the application of engineering expertise specific to electronic warfare systems theory and equipment operation, including radar, radar warning receivers, missile warning systems, active countermeasures, RF and IR expendable systems, fundamentals of aircraft avionics, and systems integration.
