About the position

The Electronics Assembler is responsible for performing basic and routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, and subassemblies. This role involves installing and assisting with testing unmanned ground vehicle systems in various vehicles, ensuring adherence to safety measures and processes to support ground vehicle system assembly and installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform electronics assembly and electro-mechanical hardware installations to support Unmanned Vehicle programs.
• Position and align parts in specified relationships and mount assembled components on panels or circuit boards.
• Route electrical cables and wiring, connect and adjust mechanical linkages, and mount brackets and electronic enclosures.
• Cut and drill into sheet metal or plastic of vehicles to facilitate hardware installation while minimizing collateral damage.
• Convert conventional ground vehicles from 'manned' to 'unmanned' operation by installing proprietary electro-mechanical control system hardware.
• Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications, and work orders to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
• Capture and record installation procedures for duplication by other personnel.
• Support control system integration and testing after installation.
• Communicate technical information effectively with Production and Engineering personnel.
• Manage job assignments and provide accurate job status reports to the Production Supervisor and/or Program Engineer.
