About the position
The Electronics Design Engineer will focus on the design and development of electronics hardware circuits, including analog, digital, mixed signal designs, and power supply design for electronic engine controllers and monitoring systems. This role involves collaboration with project teams across various engineering branches and requires travel to client sites and labs. The position is integral to the development of next-generation Aero Engine Control Systems, emphasizing efficiency, diagnostics, and cyber threat protection.
Responsibilities
- Concept, design and execute electronics circuit design for control and monitoring systems.
- Create schematics and provide PCB layout support.
- Perform trade study analysis, tolerance analysis and various simulations to support design accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform worst case circuit calculation and analysis (tolerance, stress and FMEA analysis).
- Develop electrical hardware products in the lab through testing, diagnosing, and inspection through development lifecycle.
- Compile functional description and design assurance testing results into a report sufficient for certifying authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 1+ years of Electronic Hardware Circuit Design experience, OR
- Masters degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, OR
- PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years experience in circuit design.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Strong Electronic Hardware Design experience.
- Experience with schematic capture tools: Allegro-Cadence/Altium Designer.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques.
- Experience with power converters, filtering, protection, EMI reduction techniques.
- Analyze and translate high level requirements into a validated design for electrical components.
