About the position

The Electronics Engineer (Network Hardware) or Principal Electronics Engineer (Network Hardware) position at Northrop Grumman involves integrating and testing software and hardware systems within complex IT environments. The role is critical to the Avionics Integration Organization and requires full-time on-site work in Rancho Bernardo, CA, with travel expectations of up to 25%. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of engineering solutions and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations, collaborating closely with engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering and automated deployments for datacenter system configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineers to install, troubleshoot, and redline documented procedures.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment.
  • Demonstrate good planning, coordination, and documentation skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience for Electronics Engineer.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related engineering experience for Principal Electronics Engineer.
  • Experience in deploying, configuring, hardening, and maintaining network routing and switching devices.
  • Experience with network information & event management systems (ISE, Solarwinds, LibreNMS).
  • Experience with software defined networking technologies (NSX).
  • Familiarity with network security devices (Firewalls, IDS, IPS).
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python, Go, etc.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.
  • Experience utilizing Linux command line and Linux based tools.
  • Active in-Scope, DoD Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes and Container networking.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology.
  • Familiarity with version control, GIT experience preferred.
  • Ability to author and maintain technical installation, configuration, and update documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
