About the position

The Electronics Engineer position at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) involves leading research programs focused on developing new measurement methods for artificial intelligence hardware. Responsibilities

  • Lead a research program that supports the development of new measurement methods for novel paradigms in artificial intelligence hardware.
  • Define goals for the research program that supports the NIST mission to advance measurement science.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art design tools to create CMOS VLSI chips that can be integrated with novel devices.
  • Propose, analyze, and realize novel architectures for information processing that lead to new directions in artificial intelligence.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent education and experience.
  • 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level, specifically in creating CMOS VLSI tape-outs and developing measurements for these systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with neuromorphic architectures.
  • Familiarity with large-scale integrated measurement platforms.
