About the position

The Electronics Engineering Manager at Northrop Grumman will lead a team of engineers in the execution of various program activities related to the design, development, and testing of electronic systems for defense and commercial applications. This role involves overseeing engineering projects from proposal through to delivery, ensuring adherence to cost, schedule, and quality standards while fostering collaboration across multiple teams and departments. The manager will also be responsible for addressing complex engineering challenges and providing strategic direction to their team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff
  • Provide objective-oriented direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines and general policies
  • Analyze complex electronic circuitry and precision electro-mechanical assemblies through simulation or analysis
  • Plan and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality
  • Direct all phases of engineering design projects from proposal through test and delivery
  • Work with multiple teams and cross-functional departments to achieve successful outcomes
  • Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test
  • Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules
  • Identify program problems and assist in establishing solutions
  • Support process improvement and establishment
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies
  • Generate reports and present to Government counterparts and other cross-functional organizations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 9 years of engineering experience, or a master's degree with a minimum of 7 years
  • Professional and/or military experience in Design Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or Program Management
  • Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical teams
  • Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot/repair hardware components

Nice-to-haves

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
  • Experience with test planning at the circuit card, equipment, and system level
  • Experience with nuclear hardened systems
  • Experience with information security, COMSEC, and TEMPEST
  • Experience with DOORS and general requirements management best practices
  • Experience with embedded software development and/or cybersecurity
  • Experience in Nuclear Surety
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value and milestone scheduling
  • Experience in an Agile development environment
  • Experience conducting analysis of electrical components within aircraft maintenance programs
  • Experience with CAD or similar design tools
  • Experience with aerospace systems
  • Experience with Air Force customers and aerospace industry and military standards
