About the position

The Electronics Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the electronics engineering team and managing product development projects within an award-winning electronics manufacturing company. This role involves supervising engineering tasks, ensuring effective communication among team members, and coordinating with various engineering resources to achieve design goals. The position requires a strong background in engineering management, project management, and technical expertise in electronics design.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise the electronics engineering team to create innovative, low power, compact designs for data acquisition, sensor, and embedded recording platforms.
  • Plan, scope, and manage product development projects, monitoring hours, costs, and other performance indicators.
  • Facilitate communication among team members and manage daily and weekly activities with clear priorities.
  • Report project progress regarding cost vs. budget, schedule, performance, risks, and resource conflicts to the Director of Engineering and Executive Team.
  • Coordinate with firmware, software, mechanical, quality, technicians, planners, and other engineering resources to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT).
  • Develop and maintain processes and infrastructure for electronic design and validation, including New Product Introduction (NPI) documentation packages.
  • Review and sign-off on new electronic designs at various phases from conceptual to production.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar discipline with substantial related experience in an engineering management role.
  • Master's degree in engineering (MSEE) or similar discipline is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead an engineering team effectively.
  • Previous project management experience with small teams and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to adhere to existing schedule templates using industry-standard milestones such as PDR and CDR.
  • Understanding of project requirements via Product Design Specifications (PDS) to meet deadlines while collaborating with other departments.
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design, schematics, board layout, and working with PCBA manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and various specialty tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Altium NEXUS and/or LT-SPICE simulation.
  • Previous experience with data acquisition system design.
  • Strong working knowledge of the test and measurement industry.
